Theft

Akron couple caught stealing goods: Police issued a summons for theft to a 33-year-old Akron man and a 31-year-old Akron woman Feb. 19 after the loss prevention officer at a South Avenue business observed the duo attempted to conceal $486 worth of merchandise on their persons. According to the report, the two were detained until police arrived.

Gold and diamond ring missing from business: A Tallmadge woman told police Feb. 18 after returning home from tanning at an East Avenue salon, she realized she had left a gold and diamond ring valued at $2,000 on the table next to the tanning bed. According to the report, when she contacted the business, they informed her the ring had not been turned in. Employees were advised to call police if the ring turns up.

Cash, scripts taken from vehicle: An Akron woman told police Feb. 14 after visiting an East Avenue preschool for about an hour, she returned to her vehicle to find $40 in cash and three prescriptions valued at $90 missing from her SUV. According to the report, the doors were locked, but entrance may have been made through the rear hatch which does not lock.

Phone, iPods stolen from unlocked vehicle: A Tallmadge woman told police sometime between midnight and 1 a.m. Feb. 9, someone removed a $20 cell phone, a $300 Touch iPod, a $75 Classic iPod, about $10 in change and a $5 cosmetic case from insider her unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside a Woods Drive residence

Change taken from unlocked vehicle: A Cuyahoga Falls man told police Feb. 13 someone entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked at a Southwest Avenue address, removing about $15 in change from inside.

Gift cards, cash stolen from unlocked vehicle: A Broadview Road man told police Feb. 12 sometime between 8 a.m. Feb. 9 and 11 p.m. Feb. 10, someone removed a credit card, gift cards valued at $100, $50 cash, a driver's license and a Social Security card from inside his unlocked vehicle which was parked outside his residence.

Wallet removed from purse: An Akron woman told police Feb. 12 after visiting a Willson Road establishment, she discovered her wallet, which contained her house key, Social Security card, $200 in gift cards and a bank debit card was missing from her purse.

Change missing from unlocked vehicle: A Southwest Avenue man told police Feb. 13 that sometime overnight, someone removed about $25 in change from inside his unlocked vehicle which was parked outside his residence. Extra patrols requested.

Criminal damage

Tires slashed on vehicles: An East Garwood Drive man told police Feb. 24 that sometime overnight, someone cut all four tires on his vehicle which was parked in his driveway. Damage was estimated at $500. An East Garwood Drive woman told police Feb. 25 that she discovered one of the tires on her vehicle had been slashed overnight. Damage was estimated at $75.

Tires, paint damaged on SUV: A Waterford Way man told police Feb. 25 sometime overnight, someone punctured three of the tires on his SUV, as well as scratching the vehicles's roof, hood and body. Damage was estimated at $2,450.

Light fixtures, wiring ripped out at residence: A Treat Boulevard man told police Feb. 19 that sometime overnight, someone ripped out his outdoor light fixtures and wiring from his landscaping. Damage was estimated at $1,400.
