Burglary

Cash, purse credit cards taken from unlocked vehicle: A Timbertop Drive woman told police sometime between 2:45 and 6:30 p.m. March 7, someone entered her unlocked vehicle, which was parked in her attached garage with the door open. Missing from inside the vehicle was $22 cash, a $50 purse, her driver's license and military ID and miscellaneous credit cards.

Breaking and entering

Tools stolen from storage unit: An Akron man told police Feb. 26 that sometime between Feb. 14 and 15, someone cut the lock on his Brittain Road storage unit, removing a $500 air compressor, a $100 kerosene heater, a $50 propane heater and a variety of hand tools valued at $700.

Theft

Prescriptions, phone charger removed from unlocked vehicle: An Akron woman told police Feb. 26 that sometime overnight, while her unlocked vehicle was parked at a Caruthers Road address, someone removed change, a bracelet, a phone charger and three prescriptions, all totaling $80, from inside.

Cash take from employee's purse: An employee of a Colony Park Drive business told police sometime during her shift, someone removed $452 from her purse.

Game system stolen from resident: An Evergreen Drive man told police Dec. 20 that someone removed a $130 game console and controllers from his residence. Police are pursuing a lead.

Change, lighter taken from vehicle: A Whitehall Drive man told police Feb. 26 that sometime overnight, someone removed $2 change and a $5 cigarette lighter from inside his vehicle which was parked outside his residence. According to the report, the man wasn't sure if he'd locked his vehicle. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

Cash taken from employee's purse: An employee of a Colony Park Drive business told police March 7 someone removed $500 from her purse while she was working.

Akron woman caught shoplifting: A 47-year-old Akron woman was issued a summons for theft March 1 after an employee of a Midway Plaza business told police she saw the woman remove $36 worth of merchandise and conceal it in her purse before leaving the store.

Mislaid wallet removed from store: A Tallmadge woman told police March 8 while shopping at a Midway Plaza business, she accidentally placed her wallet, which contained $85 cash and her driver's license, on a counter. When she went to look for it, it was gone.

Criminal damage

Mailbox damaged: A Tonkawood Drive woman told police sometime overnight, someone used an unknown object to damage her mailbox, which is valued at $100.

Mailbox hit by vehicle: A Beachler Road man told police March 1 that sometime overnight, someone drove into his yard and hit his mailbox, scattering it across the yard. Damage was estimated at $100.
