Makeup stolen from unlocked vehicle: A Morningview Drive woman told police Aug. 28 that sometime overnight, someone removed a $10 duffle bag from her unlocked vehicle, which contained a $40 makeup kit, $50 worth of makeup, $10 worth of pens and pencils, a $5 blue thermos cup and miscellaneous financial paperwork. According to the report, the vehicle was parked in her driveway.

Bulldog attacks neighbor's dog: Police issued a citation for dog at large to a North Thomas Road couple Aug. 30 after their bulldog left their property and attacked a neighbor's dog. The dog owners were also issued a citation for failing to register their dog. According to the report, the woman told police the dog was a rescue and she and her husband planned to return it.
Pistol missing from vehicle's trunk: An Akron woman told police sometime between Aug. 24 and Sept. 2, while her vehicle was undergoing service at a West Avenue business, someone removed a $300 semi automatic pistol from the trunk of her car. According to the report, an employee of the dealership told police they had fixed the throttle body on the car and had no reason to open the trunk. The employee also noted that while the vehicle was ready for pick up Aug. 26, the car owner said she may not retrieve her vehicle for a few days. The locked car had been parked in the service lot.
Full beer cans thrown at vehicle: Police issued a summons for criminal damage to an 18-year-old South Thomas Road man Sept. 1 after police saw the suspect throw two full cans of beer at an Akron man's vehicle, which was parked at the apartment complex, causing damage estimated at $600.
Scuffle near Circle: Police arrested a 25-year-old Tallmadge woman and charged her with domestic violence Sept. 1 after she was seen hitting and scratching a 78-year-old female relative in her car while in the drive thru of a Tallmadge Circle fast food restaurant. According to the report, while the two were driving to their home, the younger woman began pounding on the dashboard of the car, grabbed the older woman's purse and threw it into the street. Police said photos were taken of the older woman's cuts and bruises and entered into evidence. The suspect, unable to post bond, was transferred to the Summit County Jail.
Police called to residence: Police arrested a 39-year-old Tallmadge woman Aug. 28 and charged her with domestic violence after police were called to her residence and discovered a 27-year-old Akron man, the father of one of her children, with scratches on his face, chest and back. According to the report, no reason was given for the attack. The woman was booked and transferred to the Summit County Jail.
