Copper pipes stolen from unoccupied home: An employee of the company that maintains an Eastwood Avenue residence told police Sept. 30 that sometime over the past few months, someone removed copper plumbing pipe valued at $2,500.
Akron women caught stealing makeup, clothes: Police issued summons for theft to a 19-year-old Akron woman and a 21-year-old Akron woman Sept. 30 after the loss prevention officer at a South Avenue business told police she observed the 19-year-old taking $34 worth of cosmetics and the 21-year-old taking clothing valued at $111. The duo left the store without paying for the items before being stopped. Both women were advised not to return to the store.
Medication, cash removed from unlocked vehicle: An Akron woman told police Sept. 30 while shopping at Midway Plaza, someone entered her unlocked vehicle, removing Percocet tablets, Fentanyl patches and $10 cash from inside.
Purse, contents taken from unlocked vehicle: An employee of a South Avenue business told police sometime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sept. 29, someone removed a $50 purse, credit cards, $30 cash and a driver's licence from inside her unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the west side of the business.
Pistol stolen from gun show: A Chardon man told police during a gun show at the Summit County Fairgrounds Sept. 28, someone took a $550 Ruger revolver from atop his table.
Excavation tools taken from site: An Akron man told police Sept. 28 as he approached a Tacoma Avenue location, he passed a black pickup truck pulling a yellow trailer with a Bobcat excavator on it. According to the report, the man though the Bobcat looked like the one he owned. When he arrived at his destination, he discovered his $25,000 Bobcat and a $3,000 root grapple were missing from the yard.
Kent woman caught taking beer, paper towels: Police issued a summons for theft to a 49-year-old Kent woman Sept. 27 after the loss prevention officer at a South Avenue business told police she saw the woman exit the store without paying for eight cases of beer valued at $136 and two packages of paper towels valued at $36. According to the report, because the woman was already "persona non grata" at the store, she was issued an additional summons for criminal trespass.
Cell phone, cash missing from unsecured locker: An Akron man told police Sept. 16 while visiting a South Avenue fitness emporium, someone removed his $300 cell phone and $12 cash from inside an unlocked locker.
