Guns stolen from store: The owner of a West Avenue business told police Dec. 8 that sometime during the store's grand opening, someone removed a 9 mm semi-automatic Glock pistol valued at $450, a 40 caliber semi-automatic Smith & Wesson pistol valued at $350 and a 9 mm semi-automatic Taurus pistol valued at $250 from the store.

Akron woman nabbed for theft of steaks, hair dye: Police issued a summons for theft to a 30-year-old Akron woman Dec. 5 after the security officer at a South Avenue business told police he saw the suspect conceal steaks and hair dye valued at $34 in her jacket and leave the store without paying for the items. According to the report, she admitted to the responding officer she had made a bad decision. She was advised to never return to the store.

Akron man caught taking items from store: Police issued a summons for theft and criminal trespass to a 58-year-old Akron man Dec. 10 after the loss prevention officer at a South Avenue business told police he observed the suspect remove miscellaneous items totaling $125 from a shelf before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. According to the report, the suspect was already "persona non grata" at that store.
