Brimfield woman caught taking groceries: Police issued a summons for theft to a 27-year-old Brimfield woman Feb. 10 after the loss prevention officer at a West Avenue business told police she saw the woman select and conceal $63 worth of groceries in her purse and leave the store without paying for the items.

Books, bag, change removed from vehicle: A Northeast Avenue woman told police Jan. 30 that sometime overnight, someone entered her vehicle, which had a broken lock on a rear door, removing $100 bag, $150 worth of textbooks and $5 of change from inside. According to the report, the vehicle was parked in the apartment complex lot and several other residents reported items had been taken from inside their vehicles.

Tallmadge man stopped trying to take liquor: Police issued a summons for theft to a 43-year-old Tallmadge man Jan. 30 after the loss prevention officer at a South Avenue business saw the man conceal two bottles of liquor valued at $60 on his person and attempt to leave the store without paying for the items.

Coat removed from restaurant: An Akron man told police Feb. 7 while attending a charity event at a Tallmadge Circle restaurant, someone took his $250 coat, but left his cellphone and keys.
