Akron man nabbed in attempt to steal beer: Police issued a summons for theft to a 49-year-old Akron man March 26 after an employee of a South Avenue business told police he observed the suspect place an 18-pack of beer valued at $13 into a cart and exit the store without paying for the merchandise.

Akron woman stopped from taking clothes from store: Police issued a summons for theft to a 22-year-old Akron woman March 24 after an employee of a South Avenue business told police he saw the suspect place clothing valued at $219 into her purse.

Outdoor ash receptacle missing from outside building: A woman employed by a South Avenue business told police sometime between March 1 and 18, someone removed an outdoor ash/cigarette receptacle valued at $200 from the back parking lot of the building.

Akron man thwarted in theft of roses: Police issued a summons for theft to a 20 year-old Akron man March 21 after the loss prevention officer at a South Avenue business told police he saw the man take two bouquets of roses valued at $40 from the store and leave without paying for them.
