Akron woman caught stealing pain medication: Police issued a summons for theft to a 52-year-old Akron woman March 24 after an employee of a South Avenue business told police he saw the suspect place an $18 bottle of Abreva into her purse and leave the store without paying for the item. According to the report, the suspect told police she didn't have enough money to pay for the pain reliever.

Phone, cash removed from unsecured locker: A Mogadore man told police March 20 that while working out at a South Avenue facility earlier that day, he had hung his coat in a locker. According to the report, he left his $400 smart phone and wallet containing $60 cash in the coat pocket and did not secure the locker. Police said when he went to retrieve his coat, he discovered his phone and the cash in his wallet was missing.

Resident reports scam: A Tallmadge man told police March 18 he was involved in a business deal which turned out to be a scam. According to the report, he placed a $255 deposit on a home he wished to purchase and the money was stolen.
