Theft

Blower taken from shed: A Dunbar Road man told police June 20 that sometime between noon and 12:36 p.m., someone entered his shed, removing a $300 backpack blower from inside.

Akron woman caught taking merchandise: Police issued a summons for theft to a 44-year-old Akron woman June 18 after the loss prevention officer at a South Avenue business reported the woman was observed concealing merchandise totaling $106 under her dress. The stolen property was returned to the store.

Akron man nabbed for theft of liquor: Police issued a summons for theft to a 38-year-old Akron man June 17 after the loss prevention officer at a South Avenue business reported the man was observed loading a shopping cart with $198 worth of liquor and leaving the store without paying for the merchandise.

Wallets stolen from lockers: Two Tallmadge men and a Kent man told police June 18 while frequenting a South Avenue fitness facility, someone entered the locker room, cut the locks off their three respective lockers, removed their wallets from the lockers and then placed new locks on the lockers. According to the report, an employee had to cut the new locks off the lockers to allow the men to get their property. Two of the men later told police their credit cards had been used, one to buy $3,500 worth of merchandise at Macy's and another to buy $534 worth of merchandise at Kmart. Police are investigating.

Illegal assembly of chemicals used to manufacture

methamphetamine

Akron man with warrant arrested when purchasing pseuodephedrine: Police arrested a 28-year-old Akron man June 18 and charged him with Illegal assembly of chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine after the suspected was observed purchasing lithium batteries and pseudoephedrine at an Eastwood Avenue business. According to the report, the suspect had an outstanding warrant. He was processed at the Tallmadge Police Department and then transported to the Summit County Jail.

Possession of drugs

Heroin, syringe discovered in vehicle: Police arrested a 23-year-old Mogadore man June 19 and charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop was initiated on Tallmadge Circle and a syringe and heroin were discovered in the vehicle. The suspect was booked at the Tallmadge Police Department and then transported to the Summit County Jail.
