Juvenile females caught stealing from store: Police arrested two juvenile females and charged them with theft after loss prevention for a South Avenue business told police Aug. 15 he observed two women put multiple pairs of shoes in their purses and leave the store without paying for the items. According to the report, the girls were banned from the store and released into the custody of their respective parents.

Juvenile female caught with stolen pants, headbands: A juvenile complaint for theft was signed by an employee of a South Avenue business after loss prevention observed the girl place a 10-pack of headbands, an eight-pack of headbands and camouflage print pants, with a total value of $35, in her purse and pass all points of sale without paying for the merchandise. According to the report, the suspect was released to her mother.

Purse taken from residence: A Locust Drive woman told police Aug. 12 that sometime between 5 p.m. Aug. 6 and 9 a.m. Aug. 7, someone removed her $100 brown leather purse from her residence. According to the report, the purse contained $50, various credit and debit cards, her Social Security card and a key fob valued at $200.

Change, CDs stolen from unlocked vehicle: A South Avenue man told police Aug. 12 that sometime overnight, someone entered his unlocked Jeep, which was parked outside his home, removing $6 in change and 10 CDs valued at $60.SFlb

Akron man caught taking CD: Police issued a summons for theft to a 39-year-old Akron man Aug. 8 after loss prevention at a South Avenue business reported the suspect was seen cutting the packaging off a $14 CD and placing the item in his pocket before walking out of the store without paying.

Akron man found with sporting goods in pants: Police issued a summons for theft to a 45-year-old Akron man Aug. 6 after loss prevention reported the suspect was observed placing $69 worth of sports equipment into his pants and exiting the store without paying for the merchandise.

Akron woman caught with merchandise, suspected crack pipe in purse: Police issued a summons for theft and possession of drug paraphernalia to a 58-year-old Akron woman Aug. 5 after loss prevention observed the woman place $136 worth of merchandise in her purse and attempt to leave the store without paying. According to the report, police also discovered a suspected crack pipe and crack pipe push rods in her purse.

Criminal mischief

Homeowner bedeviled by eggs: An Amy Trail man told police Aug. 13 that a 1:18 a.m., someone threw several eggs at his front door. According to the report, the homeowner states this is the third time this has happened in the past week.
