Cash, credit cards stolen from residence: A South Ridgecliff Street woman told police Aug. 22 that sometime between 10:20 a.m. and 2 p.m., someone broke into her house through a back door, removing a black laptop bag containing $5,000 cash, checkbooks and credit cards from her business.
Burglars caught, merchandise returned: Police arrested a 20-year-old Hartville man and a 22-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man Aug. 21 and charged them with burglary after they smashed a pane of glass and entered an East Avenue home. According to the report, the suspects removed a $500 flat screen TV, a wallet containing credit cards, $50 cash and $50 in quarters, all of which were returned to the homeowners. Damage to the window was estimated at $50.
Man too embarrassed to pay for personal lubricant: Police issued a summons for theft to a 47-year-old Alliance man Aug. 20 after loss prevention at a South Avenue business observed the suspect conceal a bottle of personal lubricant on his person before being stopped by store personnel. According to the report, the suspect told police he was embarrassed to purchase the item as only female clerks were working the registers.
