Cash, medication removed from unlocked vehicle: A Senn Road man told police Sept. 15 that sometime overnight, someone entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked in his driveway, removing $40 cash and $150 worth of prescription medication.
Cash taken from vehicle: An Eastwood Avenue woman told police Sept. 17 that sometime overnight, someone entered her locked vehicle, which was parked in her driveway, removing a cash box containing $250 from inside.
Assault of police officer
Suspect attempts to punch officer: A resident called police to report an unwanted guest at her Whitehall Drive apartment Sept. 18 around 7:30 p.m. The caller advised dispatch the suspect was drunk and unruly and that he may be on drugs or possess a weapon. While heading to the scene, police were advised the suspect had left on foot toward South Avenue. Dispatch also noted the suspect had multiple warrants. The suspect was spotted on Jones Road near Whitehall Drive. According to the report, when the responding officer attempted to take the suspect into custody, he pushed back at him and tried to punch him as he turned to flee on foot. Following a short foot chase the suspect was taken down by the officer's taser and eventually taken into custody after a short struggle with the assistance of another officer. After being checked by Tallmadge EMS, he was booked and transported to the Summit County Jail.
