Purse, cash, makeup stolen from car: A Tallmadge woman told police while her car was parked outside a South Avenue business, someone broke the rear and driver side windows, removing a $100 purse, $20 cash, a debit card, a cheetah print bag containing makeup valued at $200, and miscellaneous clothing valued at $35 from inside. Damage to the windows was estimated at $500.

Akron man charged with theft, resisting arrest: Police booked and released a 34-year-old Akron man and charged him with theft, resisting arrest and criminal trespass Oct. 11 after an employee at a Midway Plaza business called to report a man had taken two bottles of vodka valued at $16 and left the store without paying. According to the report, police located the suspect behind some businesses on East Tallmadge Avenue and ordered him to the ground. Police say he refused to comply and threw the bottles of vodka to the ground. The suspect them took an aggressive stance by blading his body and clenching his fists, continuing to ignore verbal commands. The suspect turned and began to run northbound before being Tased. Police say the suspect was intoxicated on alcohol and aerosol paint fumes. He was treated and cleared by Akron Fire/EMS.

Man leaves store with shrimp in pants: The manager of a West Avenue business told police Oct. 10 he observed a suspect stuff a $20 bag of shrimp down his pants and leave the store without paying.

Truck wheel, tire stolen: A Beachler Road man told police Oct. 10 sometime overnight, someone removed a truck wheel and tire valued at $600 from his vehicle.

Political sign removed from yard: A Green Meadow Drive man told police Oct. 8 that sometime overnight, someone removed a Clinton For President political sign from his front yard.

Tire damaged: A North Thomas Road man told police Oct. 4 that sometime between Oct. 2 and 3, someone punctured the right rear tire of his vehicle. Damage was estimated at $250.

Jewelry taken from home: A Westburry Circle woman told police sometime between Sept. 27 and 30, someone removed $5,000 worth of jewelry from her bedroom. Police are pursuing a lead.

Political signs removed: A South Avenue man told police Oct. 8 that sometime overnight, someone removed two Trump/Pence and two Vote NO on the School Levy signs from his yard.

Woman carrying child runs from store with vodka, Red Bull: Loss prevention at a South Avenue business told police Sept. 29 she observed a woman place a $33 bottle of vodka and Red Bull valued at $8 into her purse. While exiting the store, a manager attempted to stop the suspect, but the suspect, who was carrying a small child in her arms, ran out of the store. According to the report, the suspect was observed via security camera with another woman in the parking lot. The security camera was able to record the license plate number of the second woman.
