Tools, wiring stolen from construction site: Police were dispatched to a construction site on Colony Park Drive for a report of breaking and entering. According to the report, a representative from the construction company building homes at the location told police since Feb. 17, tools, two Rotozips, a battery and radio, 64 feet of electrical line with a total value of $910 has been removed from the site. Additionally, drywall damaged when the wiring was removed from the walls is estimated at $1,000. The employee of the construction company told the officer the building is locked and boarded up overnight. Police are pursing a possible lead.
Saxophone taken from car wash: A Tallmadge woman told police Feb. 28 that she removed her $800 saxophone and case from her vehicle while she was vacuuming out her car at a Southeast Avenue car wash. According to the report, she forgot to put the saxophone back in her car. When she returned to the car wash, she was unable to find it.
Fencing stolen from yard: A Southeast Avenue man told police Feb. 28 that someone removed three 13-foot by 16-foot black vinyl fencing rolls, valued at $450, from his front yard.
Wallet taken from car wash: A Tallmadge man told police while he was cleaning out his car at a Southeast Avenue car wash Feb. 23, he placed his wallet on top of a pole near the vacuums. When he went to retrieve it, the wallet was gone. According to the report, the $25 wallet contained bank cards, credit cards, his driver's license and $200 cash. Police advised him to cancel his credit and bank cards.
Akron woman apprehended in theft of clothes: Police issued a summons for theft to a 56-year-old Akron woman Feb. 27 after loss prevention at a South Avenue business observed the suspect place clothing valued at $149 into a bag she had brought into the store. According to the report, the woman left the store without paying for the items. Police were able to locate the suspect in a red Mazda and conducted a traffic stop. She was transported back to the store, where the clothing was returned and she was told to never return.
Purse stolen from unlocked vehicle: A Tallmadge woman told police Feb. 25 before she entered a West Avenue business to shop, she grabbed her wallet and then placed her $50 Coach bag underneath the passenger's seat of her vehicle which she failed to lock. According to the report, when she arrived home, she discovered her purse was missing.
