Community Expo set for April 20

Tallmadge Asphalt & Concrete will again serve as event sponsor for the 2013 Tallmadge Community Expo, scheduled for April 20.

The Expo is a one-day, communitywide event that began in 1997 and is held every other year in April. The Expo provides a single venue where Summit County area visitors can come to know the community of Tallmadge and what it has to offer. Guest celebrity this year will be former Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel, now vice president of strategic engagement for the University of Akron. Tressel will be available to sign autographs. Additionally, there are various children's activities planned and Weaver-SecurShred will be on hand for the public to drop off large volumes of papers to shred.

The Expo will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tallmadge Recreation Center, 46 N. Munroe Road. Exhibitors -- including those in retail, commercial and industrial businesses, civic, religious and other non-profit organizations, as well as the city of Tallmadge, Tallmadge City Schools and the Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce -- rent booth space to showcase their products, services and capabilities.

Chamber members co-chair the event. The Tallmadge Community Expo continues to grow, attracting more exhibitors and more visitors each year.

Corporate level sponsorships are available. Those interested in sponsorship or exhibitor booth space should contact the Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce at 330-633-5417 or email tallmadgechamber@onecommail.com.
