The Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board has announced the accreditation of PharmaCare Compounding Pharmacy in Tallmadge. The accreditation is awarded in recognition of the pharmacy's commitment to meeting and/or exceeding national quality standards.

"Our new PCAB® Accreditation status and our designation as a PCAB Accredited® Compounding pharmacy lets our community know that PharmaCare ranks among the best for commitment to quality," said Dr. Ryan Powell, PharmD.

Compounding medications is an integral part of the practice of pharmacy and the demand for these customized medications is increasing every year. Yet many people may not even be aware of its role. Compounded medications are prescriptions that are written by physicians, veterinarians and other legally authorized prescribers and prepared for an individual patient by a specially trained pharmacist.

PharmaCare has been in the Tallmadge community for more than 10 years. The pharmacy is owned and operated by Powell. Powell received his doctor of pharmacy degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. PharmaCare specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, pain management and veterinary preparations, to name a few.
