Google released its 2016 Economic Impact Report last week. The report details its economic impact in all 50 U.S. states, plus Washington, D.C.. and tells the success stories of individual businesses that use Google’s search and advertising tools. Google announced WARDJet of Tallmadge was selected to serve as Ohio’s example of a business that is utilizing the Internet to grow its businesses.
"Google allowed us to break away from the traditional, costly business model and grow to where we are today,” said WARDJet founder Richard Ward.
“The web is working for American businesses, and we’re continuously impressed by the extraordinary feats people can accomplish when they have access to information and the tools to put it to use,” says Mary Ellen Coe, president, Google Marketing Solutions. “Whether we’re connecting businesses with customers around the world, enabling publishers to earn money from their online content, or helping non-profits rally people in support of their mission, our search and advertising tools create opportunities for businesses, large and small, to grow and thrive.”
Google's tools helped provide $222 billion of economic activity for 1.5 million businesses, website publishers, and nonprofits across the U.S. in 2016. And in Ohio, Google helped provide $4.2 billion dollars of economic activity.
