Lenten Bible Study and Ash Wednesday Service. The Holy Season of Lent begins Feb. 13 with an Ash Wednesday service of worship at 7 p.m.  A part of this sacred season is to invite everyone to live their spiritual life as a faith journey. Beginning Feb. 5 at 10:30 a.m. or Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m., the Senior Pastor's Lenten Bible Study will begin and meet through March 20. The focus of the study will be about Jesus and the book "Saving Jesus from The Church: How to Stop Worshiping Christ and Start Following Jesus" by the Rev. Robin R. Meyers will be used. This will be an intentionally provoking study about following Jesus and his teachings. Archbishop Desmond Tutu said about this book, "Every once in a while, a book comes along that changes everything.  This is the book … 'Saving Jesus from the Church' is scholarly, pastoral, prophetic and eloquent -- all in equal measure. Meyers has spoken the truth to power and the Church he loves will never be the same."  The cost of materials is $15, which includes the book. Those who would like to attend are asked to call the church office at 330-633-4931.
