St. Mark Lutheran

St. Mark Lutheran Church, 158 North Ave., offers the following activities:

• March 10 -- Services with Communion at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m.; Sunday School for all ages, 9:15 a.m.; fellowship and refreshments at 9:15 and 11:30 a.m.; First Communion class at 9:30 a.m. Blessing in the City -- Join St. Mark's and other Tallmadge churches today at 11:45 a.m. at Delanie's Neighborhood Grille, 67 West Ave., for lunch. First Congregational

All are welcome to join Sunday activities at First Congregational Church of Tallmadge.

Worship -- 8:30 and 10 a.m.; Sunday school for all ages, 9 a.m.; children and youth choirs, 10 a.m.; children's worship, 10:30 a.m.

High School Fellowship also meets on Sunday's, but the schedule varies. Middle School Fellowship and Handbells meet during the week.

"Forever Love," a faith-building musical based on the story of the prophet Hosea, will be presented March 9 at 3 and 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Drive.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and may be purchased at the door. All proceeds from the day will benefit the Interfaith Caregivers (a Faith in Action program), 50 N. Prospect St., Akron.

As part of the Holy Season of Lent, First Congregational Church invites everyone to live their spiritual life as a faith journey. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. or Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., the Senior Pastor's Lenten Bible Study will meet through March 20. The focus of the study will be about Jesus and the book "Saving Jesus from The Church: How to Stop Worshiping Christ and Start Following Jesus" by the Rev. Robin R. Meyers will be used. This will be an intentionally provoking study about following Jesus and his teachings. Archbishop Desmond Tutu said about this book, "Every once in a while, a book comes along that changes everything.  This is the book … 'Saving Jesus from the Church' is scholarly, pastoral, prophetic and eloquent -- all in equal measure. Meyers has spoken the truth to power and the Church he loves will never be the same."  The cost of materials is $15, which includes the book. Warriors' Journey Home Ministry -- Listen, Speak, Heal is scheduled to meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. monthly. Veterans and individuals of strong heart who would like to experience the healing circle for veterans are invited to attend. For future meeting times, visit the website warriorsjourneyhome.org.

Our Lady of Victory

The Year of Faith -- Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 73 North Ave., continues to celebrate The Year of Faith by sharing some OLV history each week in its bulletin.

Families can jump start faith activities in the home, primarily to assist parents in being the first and best teachers of their children in the ways of faith which may in turn foster family togetherness, learning and conversations about faith, in a fun and interactive way.

Queen of Heaven

Holy Week services: Masses Monday through Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., except Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Greenview Inn. Confessions Monday through Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. Holy Thursday, March 28, The Lord's Supper Mass, 7 p.m., confessions for one hour after Mass, Adoration until 11 p.m. Good Friday, March 29, Ecumenical Prayer service at noon sponsored by Green Clergy Association; Liturgy of Lord's Passion, 3 p.m.; Stations of the Cross, 7 p.m., Confessions: 9 to 10 a.m. and after 3 and 7 p.m. services for one hour. Holy Saturday, March 30, confessions from 10 to 11 a.m., Blessing of Food 3 p.m., Vigil Mass with Baptism and Adult Choir, 9 p.m. Easter Sunday, March 31, Masses at 8 and 10 a.m. and noon.

Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated by Catholics April 7. The celebration will run from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, veneration of the Divine Mercy Image, singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, confessions and Benediction. A social will follow.

"Journey to Peace Bereavement Support," a ministry of information, consolation, spiritual and emotional support at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church will offer a free six-week series. For those of any faith having experienced the death of a loved one, the series will be held on six Mondays, beginning April 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the church. Ministry members will strive to provide Christian support and guidance for daily living for anyone suffering grief, whether recent or lingering from the past. Green Clergy

Association

The Green Clergy Association invites all to a prayer service on Good Friday of Holy Week, March 29, at noon at Queen of Heaven Church, 1800 Steese Road. The service will consist of music, readings, prayers and seven short sermons given by pastors of the Green Clergy Association on the last words of Jesus from the Cross. The city of Green churches represented by the Green Clergy Association are East Liberty Church of the Nazarene, Green Valley United Methodist Church, Greensburg Church of God, Greensburg United Methodist Church, Lakeview Christian Church, Messiah Lutheran Church, Queen of Heaven Church and The Chapel. Grace Baptist Church

Grace Baptist Church, 5915 Rhodes Road, Kent. Sunday services include worship at 9:30 a.m. with Sunday school for children, youth and young adults and an adult Bible fellowship class; worship at 11 a.m. with children's church and another adult Bible fellowship class option.

Abundant Living 55+

to meet

Abundant Living 55+ will meet at 10 a.m. March 15 at The Chapel's Green Campus, located at 1800 Raber Road in Uniontown for Christian fellowship and lunch in the atrium.

Pastor Kevin Seager will host and Bob Catteau, MBI Ohio Stewardship Representative will speak.
