Queen of Heaven
Easter Sunday, April 20 Masses at 8 and 10 a.m. and noon.
Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated by Catholics April 27. The prayer service will begin at 2:30 p.m. with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and confessions. At 3 p.m. the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed followed by benediction and veneration of the Divine Mercy Image. A social will follow.
This celebration was declared by His Holiness John Paul II in 2000 as requested of St. Faustina, and recorded in her diary, to be held the first Sunday after Easter at 3 p.m., the appointed time of Christ's death. The 600-page diary of Polish nun Faustina Kowalska recorded the revelations she received about God's mercy. The message was simply to ask for mercy from God, be merciful to others and completely trust in Jesus.
