Tallmadge United Methodist Church
Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Road, will host its ninth annual golf outing at Maplecrest Golf Club in Brimfield on May 18 at 2 p.m. Golfers are asked to arrive at the course at 1:30 p.m. The $45 cost includes nine holes of golf, prizes, a meal, golf cart and fellowship.
Proceeds from the outing will benefit missions.
Those interested in participating are asked to register by May 10 by calling 330-633-3734.
Dare to Share is a nutrition program sponsored by Tallmadge High School students, the Tallmadge Rotary Club and Tallmadge United Methodist Church. Those who would like to contribute are asked to select from the following items in small containers to go into backpacks: 100 percent juice boxes, beans and franks (pop-top), beef stew (pop-top), beef sticks, cereal bars, cereal bowls, fruit cups, pudding cups, jelly, shelf-stable milk, microwave popcorn, granola bars, oatmeal, peanut butter, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and tuna. Items may be delivered to the Tallmadge UMC office.
Vacation Bible School is scheduled from June 23 to 27. The theme is "Workshop of Wonders." Attendees are asked to put on their creativity cap and start an adventure to build their faith using their heart, mind and imagination to produce something amazing through God, the one who works wonders.

First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, a Stephen Ministry church, offers two worship services Sunday mornings at 8:30 and 10 a.m.: Also offered Sundays are a 9 a.m. Sunday School and child care, a 10 a.m. childcare, a 10 a.m. children's and youth choirs, and 10:30 a.m. children's worship.
The Elder's Fellowship Group of First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, UCC is sponsoring an 11 day "Art of the Soul and Spirit" art exhibit from May 11 through 21. The exhibit will feature art work from church members ages 55 years and older and include acrylic, pottery, jewelry, ceramics, quilts, woodworking, painting (water color, oils). On May 14, the art show will feature:
• 4:30 p.m. -- A pottery demonstration with artist Bob Yost
• 5:45 p.m. -- An acrylic painting demonstration by artist John Kinzel
• 7 p.m. -- A poetry reading and musical presentation by "Elder's Writes" and the musical group, "The Golden Tones."
Light refreshments will be served during the afternoon and evening events.
The exhibit is open daily during office hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to noon; and Sunday, immediately following the 10 a.m. service of worship until 1 p.m.
Warriors' Journey Home Ministry -- Listen, Speak, Heal is scheduled certain Sundays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Veterans and individuals of strong heart who would like to experience the healing circle for veterans are invited to attend. For future meeting times, visit the website warriorsjourneyhome.org.

First Baptist Church, 848 Southeast Ave., will present Gospel music May 4 at 6 p.m. The Rev. Don Bennett and his wife, Betty, will join a band of six other musicians to perform a "Blue Country Gospel" music program.
