Tallmadge United Methodist

Dare to Share is a nutrition program sponsored by Tallmadge High School students, Rotary and Tallmadge United Methodist Church. Those who would like to contribute are asked to purchase small containers to go into backpacks: 100 percent juice boxes, beans and franks (pop-top), beef stew (pop-top), beef sticks, cereal bars, cereal bowls, fruit cups, pudding cups, jelly, shelf-stable milk, microwave popcorn, granola bars, oatmeal, peanut butter, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and tuna. Items made be brought to the Tallmadge UMC office.

First Congregational

First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, a Stephen Ministry church, offers two worship services Sunday mornings at 9:30 worship and child care; and a 10 a.m. children's worship, for ages 3 through second grade.

Warriors' Journey Home Ministry -- Listen, Speak, Heal is scheduled monthly from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Veterans and individuals of strong heart who would like to experience the healing circle for veterans are invited to attend. For future meeting times, visit the website warriorsjourneyhome.org.

First Congregational Church is the host church for an Alzheimer's Support Group for caregivers and family members. Alzheimer's, dementia and delirium affect the entire family and this group support is intended to provide assistance in coping strategy and care. The group meets on the last Tuesday every month at 11 a.m. at the church. For more information, call 330-633-4931. The group facilitator is trained by the Alzheimer's Association.

Queen of Heaven

FUNFest, in its 13th-anniversary year for Queen of Heaven Parish, provides summer fun for families and the community. The annual FUNFest is set for July 31 and Aug. 1, 2 and 3 -- Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be food, dinner specials on Friday (barbecue chicken) and Saturday (steak fry), baked goods, live bands, entertainment, rides, the Magical-Train except Friday, a casino and Midway games for all ages. A KIDSCorner will feature games for children ages 6 and younger.

The FUNFest takes place on church grounds, with events scheduled outdoors and indoors in the Parish Life Center (PLC). Admission is free.

Raffle winners -- Grand prize is a new, loaded Chevy Equinox, courtesy of the VanDevere Bunch; two second place cash prizes of $500 each; and 10 third place prizes of $100 each. Raffle tickets are $20 apiece or six for $100. Drawings will take place Sunday evening around 9:30 p.m. Winners need not be present. For raffle tickets and more information, call 330-896-2345.
