Sunday Morning Worship Services: Contemporary service -- 8:45 a.m.; traditional service -- 10:45 a.m.

The Western Reserve Jazz Ensemble's second annual Big Band Concert will take place Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. Admission is free. The concert will feature about an hour of '40s music, Big Band style. All are welcome. Snacks and beverages provided. Individuals will be available to help those who need assistance getting into the building. There are two handicapped entrances -- one in front and one in the back of the building.

Al Anon continues to meet at the church each Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Dare to Share is a nutrition program sponsored by Tallmadge High School students, Rotary and Tallmadge United Methodist Church. Those who would like to contribute are asked to purchase small containers to go into backpacks: 100 percent juice boxes, beans and franks (pop-top), beef stew (pop-top), beef sticks, cereal bars, cereal bowls, fruit cups, pudding cups, jelly, shelf-stable milk, microwave popcorn, granola bars, oatmeal, peanut butter, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and tuna. Items made be brought to the Tallmadge UMC office.

The Falling Leaves Craft Show is scheduled for Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. The deadline to turn in fees and entry forms is Oct. 4.

First Congregational

First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, a Stephen Ministry church, offers one worship service in the summer at 9:30 a.m.

Warriors' Journey Home Ministry -- Listen, Speak, Heal is scheduled Aug. 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Veterans and individuals of strong heart who would like to experience the healing circle for veterans are invited to attend. For future meeting times, visit the website warriorsjourneyhome.org.

First Congregational Church is the host church for an Alzheimer's Support Group for caregivers and family members. Alzheimer's, dementia and delirium affect the entire family and this group support is intended to provide assistance in coping strategy and care. Tallmadge Nazarene Church

All members of the community are invited to attend the Tallmadge Nazarene Church Picnic Aug. 16 starting at 10:30 a.m. A pavilion has been reserved and attendees are asked to take both a side dish and dessert to share. Tallmadge Nazarene Church is sponsoring a night out at the Akron Rubber Ducks game at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 30. A limited number of reserved tickets are available on a first come, first served basis for only $7. Tickets must be ordered and purchased in advance from the church by emailing the Church Administrator at TallmadgeNazarene@TallmadgeNazarene.org no later than noon Aug. 27. The first 1,000 children ages 12 and younger through the gates will receive a free back to school backpack. The game will also feature a fireworks show with music immediately following the game. Families are encouraged to enjoy a fun evening of baseball, fellowship, music and fireworks.
