Tallmadge Alliance Church will sponsor a free series of English as a Second Language classes on Monday nights starting Sept. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. Classes are for adults learning English as their second language. Dare to Share is a nutrition program sponsored by Tallmadge High School students, Rotary and Tallmadge United Methodist Church. Those who would like to contribute are asked to purchase small containers to go into backpacks: 100 percent juice boxes, beans and franks (pop-top), beef stew (pop-top), beef sticks, cereal bars, cereal bowls, fruit cups, pudding cups, jelly, shelf-stable milk, microwave popcorn, granola bars, oatmeal, peanut butter, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and tuna. Items made be brought to the Tallmadge UMC office.

Northwest Avenue Church of Christ, 737 Northwest Ave., will sponsor a free estate planning seminar Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. at the church.
The seminar will offer tips on how to avoid the cost and inconvenience of probate; provide a choice of care for minor children; realize substantial time and tax savings; direct the distribution of property as the property owner sees fit; and how to have a living trust prepared at no cost.

Tallmadge Church of Nazarene will turn the church sanctuary into a movie theatre for a special free showing of the movie "God's Not Dead" Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The movie tells the story of a college student who must stand up for his Christian faith which comes under attack from one of his professors. The community is invited to view the movie on a 7-foot by 10-foot screen with a state of the art projection and sound system. Families and youth groups are encouraged to attend. Cut Ups Quilting Ministry -- Every Thursday afternoon the Cut Ups Quilting Ministry meets in the Fellowship Hall and make quilts that are distributed to military personnel stationed around the world. No previous experience is required and all materials and instruction provided.

The St. Mark Youth Group will sell refreshments as part of their fundraising efforts.
In honor of the first day of Sunday School, Sept. 14, St. mark's is starting a new Children's Church during the sermon time for babies to children age 7. Traditionally, Confirmation classes also start this Sunday.

First Congregational Church is the host church for an Alzheimer's Support Group for caregivers and family members. Alzheimer's, dementia and delirium affect the entire family and this group support is intended to provide assistance in coping strategy and care.
