Baby play group
Fridays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for babies up to 24 months of age with caregiver. Join other parents, grandparents and caregivers for a group playtime. The library will provide a meeting room and developmentally appropriate toys.
Mother Goose time
First Friday of every month, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. For babies up to 24 months of age with caregiver Traditional rhymes and songs. A baby play group follows.
Toddler, Preschool
story times
Book Bugs Story Times -- Tuesdays, Feb. 5 through March 26, 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 through 6 with caregiver. Stories, songs, rhymes and arts and crafts featured.
Wonderful Wiggle Worms Story Times -- Wednesdays, Feb. 6 through March 25, 10:30 a.m. for ages 2 through 3 with caregiver. Jump on over to a shorter story time for active little ones. Features songs, dancing, rhymes and stories. Followed by a group playtime.
School age programs
For children in kindergarten through fifth grade
Sound Science -- Jan. 8, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Local musician Hal Walker will guide students' explorations with sound and music. Children will experiment with making music and become scientists of sound. Space is limited. Registration requested.
Valentine Fun -- Feb. 12, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Children will make Valentines for their friends and family and a tasty snack for themselves.
Family programs
For all ages. Children younger than age 5 should be accompanied by an adult.
Miss Spider's Tea Party -- Feb. 9, 11:30 a.m. The Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet presents a mini-performance and interactive dance and movement activities based on the story, "Miss Spider's Tea {party." Enjoy tea and cookies after the performance. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best tea party hat.
Paws for Reading -- Every first and third Saturday of the month, 1 to 2 p.m. Look for therapy dogs, Caesar or Sophie, in the Children's area. Children can improve their reading skills by reading a book to a furry friend. Children can take a book they are currently reading or select one from the library shelves.
Teen programs
Advance registration required. For children in grades 6 through 12.
Paper Bead Craft -- Jan. 15, 4 p.m. Recycle and reuse. This craft is for the eco-conscious teen. Using anything from gift wrap to glossy magazine pages, teens will make barrel-shaped beads that can be threaded onto string to create necklaces.
Teen movie, "The Hunger Games" -- Feb. 26, 4 p.m. In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Rated PG-13, 142 minutes
Yoga Teens -- Fridays, Feb. 1 through 22, 4 p.m. Teens are invited to join yoga instructor Cheril Walker for some relaxing stretches and challenging yoga poses. Attendees are asked to take a yoga mat or a beach towel. Space is limited.

Zentangle with Carol Bailey Floyd -- Jan. 7, 6:30 p.m. Join Carol Bailey Floyd as she introduces Zentangle, an easy-to-learn, relaxing, meditative, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Registration requested..
Dr. Terry Gordon, author, will discuss his book "No Storm Lasts Forever," Jan. 22, 6:30 p.m. Local cardiologist Gordon will share his personal experience how a so-called tragedy in one's life can actually be a blessing in disguise.
Sara Ruble, author, will discuss her book "Surviving and Thriving: Grief Relief and Continuing Relationships" (sponsored by Conversations & Co.) Jan. 24, 6:30 p.m. Ruble returns to the library to speak again on the topic, Grief and Pain: Life's Greatest Challenges ... It All Has Meaning." Second in a series of three discussions, Ruble continues by opening up participants' thinking about the difficult challenges in life and how to see them with more meaning.
Valentine's Day Vases -- Feb. 9, 2 p.m. Attendees will decorate their own vase in Valentine's style to keep or give away. All materials provided. Registration requested.
Kindles and eBooks -- Feb. 19, 2 p.m. Learn about Kindles, ebooks and how to access them. Find out how to download an ebook or e-audiobook free from a vast selection offered by the library. Attendance at Internet, Part 1 or prior Internet experience is preferred.
