Spaghetti dinner to be served up Sept. 14
The Tallmadge Lions Club will host an "all you care to eat" spaghetti dinner Sept. 14 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Lions Park Hall, 245 Northeast Ave. This all you can eat event is a primary fundraiser of the Tallmadge Lions Club, whose members give back to the community through a variety of philanthropic services, including scholarships to local students, children's vision screening, pilot dogs, eyeglasses and eye surgeries.
The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Reservations are not required. Take out orders will be available in person or by calling ahead at 330 633-5739.
Tallmadge Lions Flea Market set for Sept. 27
The Tallmadge Lions Club will host a flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27 at Lions Hall, 245 Northeast Ave. Donations will be accepted at Lions Hall Sept. 26. Large items, TVs and clothing will not be accepted. Proceeds from the flea market will benefit the numerous eye care programs Tallmadge Lions support, including the Greater Akron Lions Eye Care Program, Lions Eye Clinic at St. Vincent's Hospital and Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation; as well as numerous local community projects.
Portage County Gardeners Herb Society seeks crafters
The Portage County Gardeners' Herb Society is seeking talented crafters and artisans to participate in a Winter Craft Festival Dec. 7 at the Gardeners' Center in Rootstown. The fee per table is $20. Contact Marilyn Tyger at 330-348-6089 or Helena Parry at 330-673-0577 to reserve space.
