Baby Play Group
Fridays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., no meeting Nov. 1. For babies up to age 24 months with a caregiver. Meet new friends and take little ones for their first group play experience. Join other moms, dads, grandmas and caregivers for a group playtime at the library. The library will provide a meeting room and developmentally appropriate toys.
Cookie Club -- Mondays, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cookie Club is a book club for beginning readers in kindergarten through third grade that meets once a month. Practice reading together, enjoy some fun activities and eat cookies.

Edible Haunted Houses -- Oct. 23, 4:30 p.m. For children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Make a deliciously scary house and then consume it.

School Conference Day movie -- Nov. 26, 11 a.m., "Escape from Planet Earth," 89 minutes, PG. For grades children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
For all ages. Children younger than 5 should be accompanied by an adult.
Turtle Tales from Around the World/Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio -- Nov. 16, 2 p.m. Against a colorful backdrop, with guitar in hand, musician-storyteller Susan weaves adventures of the wise old turtle whose amazing tales impart cultural wisdom from West Africa, North America, Asia and the West Indies. Stories are geared for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. All are welcome.
Paws for Reading -- Every first and third Saturday of the month, 1 to 2 p.m. Look for therapy dogs, Caesar or Sophie, in the Children's area and improve reading skills by reading to a furry friend. Take along a book or choose one from the library shelves.
Knit & Crochet Club -- Nov. 7, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Those who'd like to learn how to knit or crochet or to share their skill with others are invited. All levels of expertise and all ages are welcome. Children younger than 12 should be accompanied by an adult helper.
For grades 6 through 12. Advance registration requested.
Book Bag Art -- Oct. 22, 4 p.m. Use creativity to decorate a book bag with glow in the dark paint and other embellishments.
Henna Design Program -- Nov. 13, 6:30 p.m. Join henna artist Luna Hart for this informative and fun program. Each participant will receive a 100 percent natural henna tattoo. Tattoos last approximately one to two weeks.
The Working Woman -- Navigating to Success and the Power of You -- Oct. 23, 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by Conversations & Co. Participants will learn specific strategies and tips for moving from where they are to where they would like to be professionally. Learn how to recognize and utilize accomplishments, discover and leverage networks and develop a personal image and brand. Join Shaan Fowler who has more than 25 years experience in career and life coaching for this informative program.
Decorative Pumpkin Craft Program -- Oct. 25, 2 p.m. Decorate a small pumpkin with puffy paint and jewels. Advance registration requested.
The Lincolns of Illinois with Paul Goebbel -- Nov. 6. 6:30 p.m. Learn the story of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln and the differences and similarities of their early life, the love that grew when they met in Springfield, Ill., the life they shared in the White House and the final tragedy for both the country and Mary. This is not the story of the Civil War; it is, instead, the story of a family enduring the Civil War.
