The city's annual leaf collection program has kicked off and will run through Nov. 29.
The program is the same as in previous years with workers collecting leaves in each of three districts, according to Public Service Director Bryan Esler.
• District 1 is east of North Avenue and north of East Avenue, excluding the stretch between North Avenue and Kent Drive. Collection in this area is scheduled for Nov. 11 through 15.
• District 2, west of North and South avenues and the area between Kent Drive and North Avenue, will be serviced between Oct. 28 through Nov. 1 and Nov. 18 through 22.
• District 3, which is east of South Avenue and south of East Avenue, will have leaves collected between Nov. 4 through 8 and Nov. 25 through 29.
"Leaves must be raked out to the curb or street, but not in the street by 7 a.m. on the Monday of the scheduled week for each district, in order for crews to collect them.
The city advises not to rake leaves near catch basins, culvert pipes and in ditches. Crews will not pick up piles of leaves with branches, brush, grass clippings or debris.
