Baby Play Group
Fridays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for babies up to age 24 months with a caregiver.
Meet new friends while taking little ones for their first group play experience. Join other moms, dads, grandmas and caregivers for a group playtime at the library. The library will provide a meeting room and developmentally appropriate toys.
Holiday Stories and Songs -- Dec. 11, 10:30 or 11:30 a.m. for children age 5 and younger.
Parents are asked to register for only one session, with a limit of 20 per session. Celebrate the season with toddlers and preschoolers. Songs, stories and cookie decorating are sure to make everyone's December brighter.
Yoga and Stories for the Very Young -- Jan. 13, 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 through 5. Registration requested, limit of 20. Nirvana Yoga will present a 30-minute program featuring story, yoga, breathing and meditation designed specifically for preschoolers and an adult companion. Stay afterwards to share a healthy snack.
Dance of the Animals -- Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. for children ages 5 and younger. Registration requested, limit of 30. How does a flamingo move differently than an elephant? What about a mouse? Morrison Dance Company returns with a program of music and movement for the very young child. Attendees are asked to wear comfortable clothing and come ready to move like the animals.

School Conference Day movie -- Nov. 26, 11 a.m., "Escape from Planet Earth," 89 minutes, PG. For grades children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Holiday Fun -- Dec. 9, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Make and take holiday craft.
Art Lab -- Jan. 13, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Let your inner artist shine through and make some cool art to take home.
Valentine's Day is for Everyone -- Feb. 10, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Make valentines for everyone in the family and a Valentine's Day snack.
For all ages. Children younger than 5 should be accompanied by an adult.
Turtle Tales from Around the World/Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio -- Nov. 16, 2 p.m. Against a colorful backdrop, with guitar in hand, musician-storyteller Susan weaves adventures of the wise old turtle whose amazing tales impart cultural wisdom from West Africa, North America, Asia and the West Indies. Stories are geared for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. All are welcome.
Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet Performance -- Feb. 1, 11:30 a.m. Student dancers will present selections from their upcoming performance, "Beauty and the Beast." There will be an opportunity for attendees to dance. Beastly tea and treats will be served.
Paws for Reading -- Every first and third Saturday of the month, 1 to 2 p.m. Look for therapy dogs, Caesar or Sophie, in the Children's area and improve reading skills by reading to a furry friend. Take along a book or choose one from the library shelves.
Nature Connect -- Visit the nature connect area and say "hi" to library turtle, Scooter. There is a bird feeding area just outside the window for attendees to birdwatch. What birds will be seen? Changing displays help children and adults learn about nature all winter long.
Henna Design Program -- Nov. 13, 6:30 p.m. Join henna artist Luna Hart for this informative and fun program. Each participant will receive a 100 percent natural henna tattoo. Tattoos last approximately one to two weeks.
Decorated Jewelry Holders -- Dec. 10, 4 p.m. for grades 6 through 12. Paint and decorate a jewelry holder to keep or give as a gift this holiday season. Enjoy a special holiday treat. Advance registration is requested.
Teen Movie -- "Man of Steel," Jan. 14, 4 p.m. for grades 6 through 12. A young boy learns he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. The hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind. Rated PG-13, 148 minutes.
No Bake Valentine's Day Desserts -- Feb. 11, 4 p.m. for grades 6 through 12. Make yummy no bake desserts to enjoy and share with that special someone.

Jewelry Making-Wire Drop Earrings -- Nov. 12, 1:30 p.m. Get creative and make wire drop earrings with Karen McLain. Advance registration requested.
Computer Training -- No registration is required. Attendance will be based on a numbering system with 15 tickets being distributed outside the classroom 30 minutes prior to class start.

National Get Organized Month -- Jan. 7, 7 p.m. Sharon Kreighbaum, owner of Staged Makeovers, will discuss organizing questions. Advance registration requested.
Meditation 101 -- Jan. 15, 7 p.m. What is meditation? How does one begin? Where can I learn how? Join Paul DiFranco, clinical and spiritual hypnotherapist C.Ht., to discuss these questions and experience the self-healing aspects of meditation.
Self-Hypnosis for Stress Relief -- Jan. 22, 7 p.m. Paul DiFranco, clinical and spiritual hypnotherapist C.Ht., will teach participants how and why hypnosis works, and how it can be used for self-improvement, enrichment and wellness in all aspects of ones life. In this program self-hypnosis will be used for stress relief.
Crafting with Bea -- Feb. 4, 7 p.m. Learn to make floating Valentine heart jewelry with step by step instructions. Join in the fun and leave with a completed project. Advance registration requested.
Behind the Music of the Beatles -- Feb. 18, 6:30 p.m. Join Rick Yacobini as he gives a multi-media presentation about how Beatles songs were written, recorded and performed.
