Book Sale

May 1 -- 4 to 8 p.m. Friends of the Library Preview.

May 2 --10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

May 3 -- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All day $5 bag sale.

Baby Play Group

Fridays, noon to 1 p.m. for babies up to age 24 months with a caregiver.

Meet new friends while taking little ones for their first group play experience. Join other moms, dads, grandparents and caregivers for a group playtime at the library. The library will provide a meeting room and developmentally appropriate toys.

Toddler, Preschool Story Times

Book Bugs -- Tuesdays, through April 22, 10:30 a.m. For children ages 3 through 6 with a caregiver. Enjoy stories, songs, rhymes and arts and crafts with library friends.

Wonderful Wiggle Worms -- Thursdays, through April 24, 10:30 a.m. For children ages 2 through 3 with a caregiver. Jump on over to a shorter story time for active little ones. Enjoy songs, dancing, rhymes and stories. Story time is followed by group playtime.



For children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! -- March 12, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Hear a favorite Dr. Seuss story. Then, make a truffula tree and sing, "Happy Birthday" to The Cat in the Hat.

Sheep Crafting -- April 9, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Craft a flock of sheep to welcome springtime.

Mother's Day Craft and Gift Making -- May 7, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Make some Mother's Day cards and a gift for Mom, a favorite aunt, or grandma.

Family Events

For all ages. Children younger than 5 should be accompanied by an adult.

Paws for Reading -- Every first and third Saturday of the month, 1 to 2 p.m. Look for therapy dogs, Caesar or Sophie, in the Children's area and improve reading skills by reading to a furry friend. Take along a book or choose one from the library shelves.

NatureConnect: Winter Into Spring -- Anytime the library is open stop by the NatureConnect space and see what's new. Test skills of observation, learn something new and get creative with nature.

Knit and Crochet Club -- April 3, May 8, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Love to knit or crochet? Want to learn? Join the Knit and Crochet Club as members create projects to be donated to charity, or work on a project of one's own. Basic supplies and instruction provided.

National Library Week -- April 13 through 19. Participants are asked to fill out an entry form and tell the library how it has changed their lives. A bundle of books will be awarded to the winner.

Teen Programs

Teen Tech Week -- March 10 through 15. Teen Choice Awards! Stop by the library and share favorite video games, websites, music, movies and television series for a chance to win a prize.

Teen Movie -- April 15, 4 p.m. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." Includes movie, food and games. Rated PG-13, 146 minutes.

We Need You! Teen Summer Reading Volunteer Program Meeting -- May 30, 3 p.m. Teens must be 13 through 18 years of age to volunteer. Love the library? Need service hours? Join the library's group of teen volunteers in helping with the summer reading program. Ask for an application at the front desk. Interested teens are advised to make sure they attend this mandatory meeting prior to the start of the program.

Adult programs

Get Organized! -- March 11, 6:30 p.m. Sharon Kreighbaum, owner of Staged Makeovers, will discuss organizing questions. Advance registration requested.

Historic Cemeteries in Summit County -- March 20, 7 p.m. Discover the historic, spooky and beautiful cemeteries in Summit County. Learn about the background of some of these cemeteries that date back to the 1700s or before.

Self-Hypnosis for Stress Relief -- April 8, 6:30 p.m. Self-hypnosis is when one hypnotizes themselves. Paul DiFranco, Clinical and Spiritual Hypnotherapist C.Ht., will teach participants how and why hypnosis works, and how it can be used for self-improvement, enrichment and wellness in all aspects of life. In this program self-hypnosis will be used for stress relief.

Being a Caregiver: Steadfast or Stressed -- April 22, 6 p.m. Learn how planning ahead, using relaxation techniques and taking advantage of supportive services allows caregivers to experience the positive aspects of caregiving.

Make Your Own Bookmarks -- May 15, 2 p.m. Use markers, stamps and colored pencils to decorate bookmarks. Keep them or give them as gifts. Advance registration requested.

Gluten-Free Cooking -- May 21, 2 p.m. Learn how to make gluten-free cooking easy. Enjoy everyday foods and recipes for those new to gluten-free cooking. Advance registration requested.

Coffee with the Editor is scheduled for the third Tuesday of the month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
