implementation to begin in Tallmadge
The city and Utility Sales Agency LLC are under contract to implement the Automatic Meter Reading System Project for all residential water customers.
According to Mayor Dave Kline, this will enable the city's water department to better manage its water system and more adequately serve customers. The meter change-out will require Utility Sales Agency's installer to replace residents' current water meter at no cost.
"It will take about half an hour or less to do the work," said Kline, adding, "Outside meter changes will not require an appointment but indoor meter changes will need to be scheduled with the homeowner. A postcard will be sent from our Water Department to indoor meter customers explaining how this will take place."
The project is scheduled to begin June 24 and will continue for the next several months.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is necessary in order to make the city's system better and safer," said Kline.
