Summit County Fair kicks off July 22
The Summit County Fair will welcome visitors of all ages to the fairgrounds this year from July 22 to 27.
The gates will open at 8 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. July 22 through 24; open at 8 a.m. and close at midnight July 25 and 26; and open at 9 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. July 27.
Visitors can access the fairgrounds from North Avenue or East Howe Road.
Grounds admission is $6 for ages 8 and older, and grandstand admission is $6 for ages 3 and older for all shows.
Rides operate from 1 to 10:30 p.m. July 22 and 23; noon to 10:30 p.m. July 24; noon to 11:30 p.m. July 25 and 26; and noon to 7:30 p.m. July 27.
Games, commercial booths and food vendors open daily at noon. It costs $14 for a ride pass on July 22 and 23; $10 on July 24; and $15 July 25 to 27.
Promotions for discounted general admissions on July 22 are Farm Bureau Day with $1 off with a Farm Bureau membership card; Akron-Canton Food Bank Day until 4 p.m. with $1 off in exchange for a donated non-perishable canned or boxed food item; and Veteran's and Senior Citizen's Day with $1 off for military veterans and seniors. Visitors who take a children's toy to donate for the Toys for Tots drive July 23 will get in for $3. Those who are 14 years old or younger get in free and ride wristbands are discounted to $10 on Family Fun Day July 24. On Country Day July 25, admission is $3 until 3 p.m.
