We're Closing the Circle and Having a Blast!
The seventh annual Circle Festival and Light Parade will be Aug. 20 from 5:30 to 11 p.m. on Tallmadge Circle.
Circlefest is an annual community event begun in 2010. Its popularity has grown each year with expected attendance this year of over 15,000. Tallmadge Circle will be shut down to traffic from 5 p.m. to midnight.
2016 Circle Fest activities
Live music 5:30 to 11 p.m. Returning this year, Doug Kaufman from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and School Girl Crush from 7 to 11 p.m.
Seventeen food vendors
Wine and beer garden (must be 21 or older)
Two bounce houses and a junior sports game
Children's games and activities
Tours of the Old Town Hall and Museum from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
New to Circle Fest this year
The Magical Train ride from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., boarding in front of the Old Town Hall. Rides are $2 per person
Dr. Insecta Bug Lab Show (southeast corner of the Circle Green) at 6:15 p.m. Dr. Insecta will do a spider stroll around the green before the show
"Pure Imagination" theater production by Frank Chaff in the historic church from 7 to 8 p.m. with special appearances by Alladin, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Peter Pan and the infamous Oompa Loompas
Kicking off the grand finale for the evening, the Festival of Lights Parade will be held at 9 p.m. (dusk), traveling from Community Drive down East Avenue to the Circle followed by a spectacular fireworks show
/ Bus shuttle service from Tallmadge Middle School to the Circle and back will be available from 6 p.m. to midnight
/ Handicapped parking will be adjacent to Jubilee Donuts and Sheltercare on the Circle
