Circle City Cycle Social -- Sept. 11, 2 to 4 p.m. Enjoy a family bike ride along the Freedom Trail at this 6-mile, non-competitive biking event. The event begins on the bike trail at Lions Park (Northeast Avenue Entrance). Along the trail there will be games, bike decorating stations, prizes and surprises. Following the ride, participants will have the chance to enjoy ice cream. Helmets are required of all participants. Cost is $5 per resident rider and $7 per non-resident rider and includes a T-shirt and ice cream. Registration will be accepted at the event.

Indoor Yard Sale -- Sept. 24, 9 a.m. to noon. Those who don't know what to do with all the stuff they no longer need are encouraged to sell it at the Indoor Yard Sale! It's inside so sellers and shoppers don't need to worry about the weather. Rent space and take tables, or tables will be provided for an additional fee. Preregistration is required for those interested in selling. Free to browse all of the booths. Cost is $15 for a 10-foot by 10-foot booth and $24 for a double booth. Register by Sept. 22.

Youth Programs

Magic & Theater Workshop -- TRC is now offering a Youth Magic Workshop and a Youth Theater workshop for ages 7 through 13. Both will be Wednesday nights, Oct. 5 through Nov. 2. In the Magic Workshop, "The Great Brad" will lead participants through the wonderful world of magic. Participants will learn to perform tricks that will amaze family and friends. The workshop is from 6 to 7 p.m. The Theater Workshop will run from 7 to 8 p.m. and will teach participants the dynamics of acting, singing and dance. At the end of the class, children will perform a variety show for family and friends. Cost for each workshop is $45 for residents and $50 for non-residents. Register by Sept. 30.

Home School Open Gym -- Thursdays, beginning, Sept. 15, 12:45 to 2:30 p.m. Home school starts back up for students in kindergarten through 12th grade who will participate in flag football and dodgeball. No pre-registration necessary. Cost is $4 for residents and $6 for non-residents.

Jump Start Hummingbirds Soccer -- The TRC has teamed up with Jump Start Sports to offer a soccer program for children ages 3 through 6. Children will learn the basic fundamentals of soccer, such as dribbling, passing, trapping, shooting and positioning. Each class day will include instruction on each aspect of the game, participation in fun drills designed to teach skills and low-key, non-competitive games. Indoor turf shoes or regular tennis shoes must be worn. No cleats will be permitted. Classes are held Sundays, Sept. 18 through Oct. 23 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. for ages 3 through 4 and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. for ages 5 through 6. Cost is $65 for residents and $75 for non-residents. Register by Sept. 12.

American Elite Youth Gymnastics -- Introduce children to the world of gymnastics. Classes will be held Saturdays, Sept. 17 through Oct. 22, ages 18 months through 2 years, 9 to 9:30 a.m.; ages 3 through 5, 9:30 to 10 a.m.; ages 6 through 8, 10 to 10:30 a.m. Instructors will teach participants the foundations of basic gymnastics and tumbling moves. Cost is $45 for residents and $50 for non-residents. Register by Sept. 12.

American Elite Dance & Cheer -- Children ages 5 through 10 can learn dance and cheerleading moves and routines from instructors with American Elite. Classes are scheduled Sept. 17 through Oct. 22 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Participants will learn the fundamentals of dance, cheerleading and fitness. The class session will end with a dance and cheer performance by each class at their regularly scheduled class time. Participants should take a water bottle and dress comfortably in workout or dance attire and athletic shoes. Cost for the session is $50 for residents and $55 for non-residents. Register by Sept. 12.

Girl Scout Nerf Wars -- On Sept. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m., Girl Scout troops can challenge each other with organized games and Nerf challenges. Scouts should take Nerf guns, extra bullets and protective eyewear (required) to the event. Cost is $5 for resident Scouts and $7 for non-resident Scouts. Scouts must pre-register as a troop by Sept. 14.

Sports Programs

Indoor Men's Flag Football Leagues -- Play adult men's flag football on TRC's indoor soccer field. The league is open to men's teams ages 18 and older and includes eight games plus playoffs for the top four teams. League plays Sundays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Oct. 2. Cost is $475 per team plus referee fees of $10 per team paid to the referee at each game. Registration closes Sept. 19 or when the league is full.

Men's Basketball Leagues -- The men's basketball league is for men's teams ages 18 and older and plays Monday evenings beginning Oct. 3. It includes eight games plus playoffs for the top four teams. Cost is $475. Registration closes Sept. 18 or when the league is full.

Programs and classes take place at the Tallmadge Recreation Center, 46 N. Munroe Road, unless otherwise noted.
