The Tallmadge Recreation Center will serve as a polling location for the election Nov. 8. Voting will be on Court 4. Rec members are asked to be aware of the following considerations on Nov. 7 and 8:

Pickleball will remain on Court 3

SilverSneakers classes will be moved to Court 2

There will only be one open basketball court available after 6 p.m. Nov. 8

All courts will be closed until after voting has ended. There will be no open gym basketball or school team practice. All classes that normally take place on the courts will be canceled for the day.

Only the small 10-lap track will be in use

Voters will be entering through door 9 located near the back of the building by court 4.

Night Hike at Tallmadge Meadows -- Oct. 13, 7 p.m. Hiking at night can be a totally new experience for hikers. Participants will hike as a group and together they will explore the sights, smells and sounds of the night. Participants are asked to wear closed toed shoes and take a flashlight. Those younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Address: Tallmadge Meadow Trail, 1088 North Ave. No registration needed. Rain or shine.

Youth Programs

Parent/Child Painting Class -- Oct. 8, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Parents are invited to spend time with their child and get creative together. All the supplies, as well as professional instruction, will be available to participants. Artist Connie Kramer of Art Break will provide step-by-step instruction during class so each parent and child pair can follow along and make the same painting together. Paintings will be done on a canvas and cookies will be served. Cost per painter is $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. Register by Oct. 3.

Home School Open Gym -- Thursdays, beginning, Oct. 6 12:45 to 2:30 p.m. Home school starts back up for students in kindergarten through 12th grade who will participate in capture the flag and an across the sea game. No pre-registration necessary. Cost is $4 for residents and $6 for non-residents.

Pokmon Night at the Rec -- Oct. 19, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Calling all Pokmon Masters, the Training Academy is open. Kids will play hands- on games and train to be a Pokmon Master. Cost is $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents. Register by Oct. 13.

Sports Programs

Tallmadge Indoor Soccer Leagues -- TRC will host indoor soccer leagues for U-9 through adults. Leagues start the week of Oct. 30. Each league plays a 10 game schedule. Cost is $605 per team plus referee fees of $10 per game paid by each manager at each game. All youth coaches must have proof of concussion recognition training. Registration closes Oct. 19. Sign up at the TRC.

Programs and classes take place at the Tallmadge Recreation Center, 46 N. Munroe Road, unless otherwise noted.
