Stock up on books, baked goods: The Tallmadge Library Association will host a book and bake sale April 27, 28 and 29 at the Tallmadge Branch Library, 90 Community Road. Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., is the Friends of the Library presale. Friday's sale will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday's sale, which is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., features an all-day $5 per bag sale.

Dispose of prescription drugs: The city is hosting a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day at the Tallmadge Police Department, 53 Northeast Ave., with other drop-off locations available at Acme Fresh Market, 600 South Ave. and Giant Eagle, 205 West Ave. Citizens may turn in unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal. Residents are asked to keep the medicines in their containers and mark out any identifying information. The take-back is only for pills, capsules and liquids -- syringes cannot be accepted. For syringe disposal, call 330-926-5600.

Play ball! The annual Tallmadge Little League Parade will kick-off on Tallmadge Circle at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 30. The teams will make their way to Mac Burleson Field, aka "The Hole," for a ceremony and recognition following the parade. Set up a blanket or lawn chair on Tallmadge Circle and show your support for these fine young athletes.
