3 THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK

1 How does your garden grow? The city, in conjunction with Tallmadge Lutheran Church, provides a community garden site on East Avenue every spring.

Garden plots (20-feet by 20-feet) are available to qualified Tallmadge residents. Access to the plots can be made from the parking lot behind the Tallmadge Recreation Center.

Applicants must register with the city's Zoning Department prior to participation. Registration begins at 9 a.m. May 4 in the lower level of City Hall, 46 North Ave. There is a $10 fee associated with each garden plot and is due upon registration.

Spring sports: The Tallmadge baseball team is scheduled to host Aurora May 2 at 4:30 p.m. The Blue Devils are set to entertain Canfield May 4 at 5 p.m.; The Tallmadge boys tennis team has three home dates this week. The Lady Blue Devils are scheduled to entertain Massillon May 2, Manchester May 3 and Stow-Munroe Falls May 4.

All three matches are set to begin at 4 p.m.; and The Tallmadge boys and girls track and field teams are scheduled to host the T-Con Relays May 4 at 4 p.m.

Let's Dance! "Arabian Nights" is the theme of the 2017 Tallmadge High School Prom.

The event will take place May 5 at St. George Family Center, 3204 Ridgewood Road, Fairlawn. The cost is $80 per couple and $40 for a single ticket. The Promenade is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the high school.

Doors will open and hors d'oeuvres will be served at 6:15 p.m. at St. George Family Center.

Dinner, prepared by TLC Catering, will be served at 7 p.m.

The dance will run from 8 to 11 p.m. The DJ Crew will supply the evening's music.
