Community Outreach Of Love is returning to Tallmadge for a second year on June 3. COOL is a non-profit organization that facilitates annual service projects for local communities. Volunteers from Tallmadge area churches are now in the planning stages for this year's project.
COOL is represented by various Christian denominations, with the purpose of uniting together to share the love of Christ through practical service and relationship building. Each volunteer team of approximately 15 to 20 individuals will combine their skills and resources to provide exterior home improvements, at no cost to the homeowner.
Each year a new residential area is prayerfully chosen for this special day of blessing. In 2016, COOL volunteers served the residents of Danner and Peck Road. This year's project will take place on Stadium Drive in the Northwest section of the city.
Mayor Dave Kline said he is happy to have the COOL team back in Tallmadge and will be serving alongside the volunteers June 3. "Last year, the COOL organization did what they promised and made a positive impact on our community.
"I am supportive of this group's mission and look forward to serving the residents in the neighborhood selected this year.
"We welcome COOL back to our city and hope you will share in our excitement about this project."
The COOL volunteer leaders will be contacting the homeowners in the project area throughout the month of April to introduce the organization and discuss how they might specifically serve each resident.
