Flapjacks and floats: This year's 149th annual Memorial Day Parade has been set for May 29 beginning at 10 a.m., with parade participants assembling in the Our Lady of Victory parking lot at 9.30 a.m. The parade will proceed to the Circle and advance to the Tallmadge Cemetery for the service and a chance to reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans. Memorial Day activities also include the Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce annual Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the Tallmadge Community Center, 80 Community Road. Additionally, the Tallmadge Historical Society will host tours of the Historic Church on Tallmadge Circle, Old Town Hall and Museum and the Schenkenberger House at 35 Southwest Ave. will be open for tours from 10 a.m. to noon. All are welcome and there is no charge.

Lovin' Little League: Some 2017 Spring Little League Majors Baseball teams have games this week. All games are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The Yankees are set to play Green1 May 30 at Mack Burleson Baseball Complex Field A, 30 Wright Road. On Field B, Ellet2 is set to play the Indians May 30. The Indians are scheduled to play the Pirates May 31 at Mack Burleson Field A. A T-Ball game also is set to take place in Tallmadge May 31 at 6 p.m. The Yankees are scheduled to play the Indians at David Bacon Field 1, 181 Strecker Drive.

Scouting for a rummage sale? Boy Scout Troop 361 will host a two-day rummage sale June 2 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and June 3 from 8 a.m. to noon at the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Drive. All proceeds will support troop camping adventures and needed supplies.
