The weather was welcoming for this year's 149th annual Memorial Day Parade on May 29. Parade participants proceed to the Circle and advance to the Tallmadge Cemetery for the service and a chance to reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans. Tallmadge American Legion Post 255 Cmdr. Jim Forsythe says Memorial Day is a time to reflect and honor this country's War Dead, "for they gave their all." Leading off the parade this year was the Tallmadge Police Honor Guard and Tallmadge American Legion Post 255. John Ziegler's Jeep passed in review, and "Fighting Falcon" F-16s out of the the Toledo Air National Guard Base flew over the Circle. The Tallmadge High School Band; Tallmadge Fire and Police Departments; Gold Star Mothers; Mayor Dave Kline and City Council; Tallmadge Girl Scouts; Brownies; Tallmadge Primetimers; Tallmadge Lions; Tallmadge Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts; and military veterans, along with other groups, marched in the parade. Court of Appeals of Ohio Judge Thomas Teodosio was this year's featured speaker.
