Listen to music inspired by local wildlife: Musician Sam Sapp will perform at the Tallmadge Branch Library, 90 Community Road at 1 p.m. June 22. Sapp lives in Northeast Ohio and in addition to being a singer/songwriter he is also a mountain dulcimer player and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. According to his website, he volunteers at the Cuyahoga National Park and Summit County Metro Parks enjoying the outdoors and associated wildlife. In retirement, Sam started composing music about local wildlife and the project took on a life of it's own. He has recorded a CD entitled "Songs of the Woods" and accompanying songbook "A Naturalist's Songbook with Fun Facts of Common Wildlife!" and "Songs of the Woods Too."

Peruse books, furnishings, clothes: St. Mark Lutheran Church will host a rummage sale June 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 158 North Ave. Many household items, books, clothing, furniture, and more will be available for purchase. Rain or shine.


Travel back in time: The Tallmadge Historical Society will host open houses at the Old Town Hall and Museum and the Historic Church on Tallmadge Circle June 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Schenkenberger House at 35 Southwest Ave. will also be open. All are welcome and there is no charge.
