Awareness program for parents offered Feb. 13 at THS

Hidden in Plain Sight, an awareness program for parents and other adults, will be offered Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Tallmadge High School Rotunda, 140 N. Munroe Road.

The program is presented by the Bath and Copley Police Departments and assisted by the Tallmadge Police Department, Tallmadge Council PTA and Tallmadge City Schools, features an interactive exhibit designed to resemble a teenagers bedroom containing more than 150 items which may be indicative of risky behaviors.

Topics of discussion, accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation, include substance use, violence, eating disorders, juvenile crime, technology, risky games/challenges, and more.

Tallmadge Middle School

The TMS staff Relay For Life Team will host a pinball tournament for all students in the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grades.

Students donate $5 apiece to participate and compete for four days during their academy time.

Jennie Perdue will organize the event, which will feature prizes being awarded to the winning team in each grade. The tournament will begin the week of Feb. 10. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
