Watercolor artist guest at Hudson
Society of Artists
The next meeting of the Hudson Society of Artists on March 18 will feature artist and author Chris Leeper. Leeper is the past president of the Ohio Watercolor Society, book illustrator and author of "Realism in Water Media."
All events take place at the Barlow Community Center, 41 S Oviatt in Hudson and begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Membership is open to non-artists and artist alike. All ages and abilities, from professionals to beginners, as well as those who are interested in the arts but do not do any art work themselves, are encouraged to join. Visitors are always welcome to the meetings which include demonstrations, talks, and critiques. The meetings are the first and third Monday of the month. Family memberships are also available.

ETC School of
Musical Arts hosts Night at the Races
With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, ETC is celebrating the Luck of the Irish with the Seventh Annual Night at the Races March 16.
The event, which starts at 6 p.m., will be at Emidio & Sons Banquet Center, 48 E. Bath Road. Tickets are $30, which includes dinner, beverages including beer and wine. The evening also includes a silent auction, basket raffles in addition to all the races. There also will be a St. Patrick's costume contest.

Avant-Garde Art & Craft show March 23
The next Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show will be March 23 24 at the Rocky River Memorial Hall,21016 Hilliard Blvd. in Rocky River. This event is a two-day show running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. This show will feature nearly 100 handmade-juried artist and crafters. Admission is $3 for adults and free for children under the age of 12. A portion of the proceeds will be donated Cleveland non-profit Project Night Night. The show will also feature a concession stand on site provided by the Arc of Summit and Portage Counties, and all the proceeds from the concession stand will be donated to the Arc.

Annual egg art show
at new location
The Ohio Egg Artists Guild will host its 41st annual show at a new location this year.
The show is March 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and March 24 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 263 E. Mill St. in Akron.
There will be egg decorating classes on March 23 at 2 p.m. for ages 10 through adult. Class fee is $10, and reservations are required. Call 330-322-7966 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
In addition, there will be a silent auction for eggs and an Easter basket raffle both days, and an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on March 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Kent State offers
Kent State Opera presents "Oh The Games We Play," an evening of one-act operas with the Kent State University Orchestra, March 15 through 17, in Ludwig Recital Hall. Ludwig Recital Hall is in the Music and Speech Center at 1325 Theatre Drive on the Kent Campus.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. and will include three one-act performances: Mozart's "The Impresario," Samuel Barber's "A Hand of Bridge" and Giacomo Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi."
Tickets are free for all full-time undergraduate Kent Campus students, $8 for all other students with ID, $12 for seniors and Kent State faculty and staff and $15 for adults. Students can earn 500 FLASHperks points for attending the March 16 show.
Brew tasting serves
Standing Rock Cultural Arts, with Totally Cooked Catering and Label Peeler's Wine and Homebrew Supply. will sponsor the Sixth Annual "Go with the Flow" watershed awareness local brew and wine tasting fundraiser for The "Who's Your Mama?" Earth Day and Environmental Film Festival on March 23.
The event, at the 257 N. Water Street Gallery, will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Features will include local food, short environmental films and live music.
