Aurora resident lauded by university for artwork

The University of Evansville announced that artwork by Aurora resident Miranda Amey was recently honored at an opening reception and awards presentation for the 51st annual Student Art Exhibition at UE's Melvin Peterson Gallery.

Amey, a graduate of Aurora High School who is majoring in archaeology and art, received the Gumberts' Award for a junior or senior art major. A committee of three campus and community members selects the recipient based upon quality of work, consistency of work, and academic excellence.

"I'm thrilled to recognize students such as Miranda Amey for their talent, creativity, accomplishments, and dedication to their craft," said Stephanie Frasier, chair of the Department of Art and associate professor of art.
