Who's Bad performs at Akron Civic

The Akron Civic Theatre will present Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band on May 24 starting at 8 p.m.

Who's Bad is the longest-running Michael Jackson tribute band, and the only one to predate his untimely passing.

Live tribute to soap opera comes

to Cleveland

"A Tribute to Pine Valley" (www.atributetopinevalley.com) will visit the House of Blues in Cleveland on May 19 at 1 p.m. The live fan tribute event, dedicated to ABC's soap opera "All My Children" will feature Walt Willey (Jackson), Vincent Irizarry (David), Darnell Williams (Jesse), DebbiMorgan (Angie), Alicia Minshew (Kendall) and Jacob Young (JR).

Phil Keaggy performs May 18

Phil Keaggy will perform in concert with special guest guitarist, Adam Cord on May 18 at the C.O.B. Stage, starting at 7 p.m.

The show marks the 40th anniversary since the release of "WHAT A DAY!"

May artist at Gallery 732 announced

Gallery 732 welcomes Melody Mumma Smith in May.

Smith has drawn and painted animals and flowers. Presently she is also working three dimensionally with the scuplture of horses. She learned the art of bronze casting while studying at Akron University and she has also studied with Lisa Drumm, wife of Don Drumm. Melody's artwork has been displayed all over the continent and it is in many collections throughout the United States.

Gallery 732, at Akron Woman's City Club, 732 W. Exchange Street is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Gallery is open to the public.

The Diamond Project performs in Solon

Solon Center for the Arts Fourth Fridays Series will continue this month with the premiere Neil Diamond Tribute Band, The Diamond Project. Due to Memorial Day Weekend, the concert this month will be May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the theater at Solon Center for the Arts.

Artists needed for July festival

The Downtown Mantua Revitalization Corporation will host the Fifth Annual Art on the Hill, a day-long festival of the arts, and is seeking artisans to sell and/or display their handmade work.

The festival is July 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on East Prospect Street in Mantua. Booth space is $45. There will also be live-continuous entertainment, raffles, and a wine tasting event. RiverDay Art exhibit opens May 18

Peninsula Art Academy invites all watershed art enthusiasts to come May 18 for an artist's reception from 5 to 7 p.m. to meet artists working in the Cuyahoga watershed. A part of the Friends of the Crooked River 23rd Annual RiverDay 2013: From Burning River to Earning River, a celebration of the benefits of a fishable, swimmable, free-flowing Cuyahoga River.
