Kent artist Judy Gaiser has several of her paintings on display in the Akron Society of Artist's gallery on the third floor of Summit Artspace in downtown Akron, in her exhibition titled "Mind Over Matter."

"There are some things from my mind and some things where I used models," she said. "There are some that are political statements, some are based on poetry."

The show is on until Feb. 22, and can be seen, along with the exhibits at the Box Gallery on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., and at the Akron Artwalk on Feb. 1 from 5 to 9 p.m. In addition, The Akron Society of Artists' Gallery also is open every Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Summit Artspace is at 140 E. Market Street, one block east of the Akron Art Museum. Gallery hours are Thursday from noon - 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
