Tallmadge -- Tallmadge Police have confirmed the identity of the driver who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Southeast Avenue Monday morning as Kenneth J. Miller, 43, of Parma.

According to police, Miller was driving a van southbound in the 1200 block of Southeast Ave. around 9 a.m. when it left the road and hit a utility pole, tree and seven cars parked in the Summit Racing parking lot.

Miller was ejected several feet from the passenger window as the van spun. He was dead at the scene, police said.

Gary Gunther, chief investigator at the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office, said because Miller was ejected, he probably wasn't wearing a seat belt. He died of blunt force trauma to the head and chest.

Speed, reckless driving and ice road conditions were factors in the crash, police said.
