Teenager arrested in apparent stabbing death of mother
Columbus -- A teenager has been arrested in the apparent stabbing death of his mother at home.
Columbus police say they were called to the home on a report of a stabbing there Feb. 20. They say when they got there the 19-year-old was on the front doorsteps with a stab wound to one of his legs.
Police say 41-year-old Latonia Banner was inside the home with multiple stab wounds and was declared dead. Her teenage son was taken to a hospital for treatment and then was taken into custody. Police say he told them he and his mother had gotten into an altercation, which escalated into the stabbing. He has been charged with murder and has been jailed.

Conviction thrown out for man accused of Facebook enticement
Akron -- A state appeals court has thrown out the conviction of a man accused of trying to entice a 13-year-old girl to be his Facebook friend. The Akron Beacon Journal reports that the 9th District Court of Appeals reversed the misdemeanor conviction of John David Goode Jr. Wednesday. As other courts have done previously, the appellate panel ruled that Ohio's child enticement law is overly broad and unconstitutional. Goode was accused of trying to speak to the girl while she was walking home from the library where he worked in 2011.
The 37-year-old Goode allegedly asked her name so they could be "secret friends" on Facebook.
Goode's attorney argued that he was acquainted with the girl from his work at the library and did not intend to harm her.
