A former Cuyahoga Falls Library employee entered a "not guilty" plea during her arraignment on Wednesday, Aug. 21, on a pair of felony charges related to the alleged theft of more than $350,000 since 2007 from the library.
On Aug. 7, a Summit County grand jury indicted Theresa M. Karm, of Tallmadge, on an aggravated theft charge and a theft in office charge, both third-degree felonies.
Karm's attorney, Michael Bowler, entered a "not guilty" plea on her behalf before Magistrate John Shoemaker of the Summit County Common Pleas Court.
A pretrial was set for Sept. 4 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Lynne S. Callahan.
Karm's bond was set at 10 percent of $100,000 and she was ordered to have no contact with the Cuyahoga Falls Library.
Karm started working at the library in June 1996. According to Library Director Kevin Rosswurm, she "was terminated (for cause) on March 13, 2013."
