Tallmadge -- Voters have chosen James M. Donovan, Robert Maguire and Kim Ray to proceed as the Democratic candidates for three open At-Large seats on City Council, according to final but unofficial results from the Summit and Portage County Boards of Elections.
In the Sept. 10 primary election, Donovan earned 455 votes, Maguire earned 431 votes and Ray earned 429 votes.
The three successful primary candidates competed against Jeffrey S. Rettberg, whose votes came in at 401.
The three candidates will compete against Republicans John Rensel and James Nuznoff in the general election Nov. 5.
The three candidates who garner the most votes in the general election will win the At-Large seats. Council members serve four-year terms.
